Welcome to SEA Church!
We are a new Church of England church based at St Aidan’s, Ernesettle. We believe that everyone has an amazing, God-given purpose for their lives and that – when we work together for the glory of God – we see the breath-taking, awe-inspiring outbreaking of His kingdom in us and through us!
Early in 2018 a vision was born to see a series of church plants happen across the north west of Plymouth.
Then in the summer of 2018, our vicar, Adam, was asked to lead a team from St Budeaux Parish Church – where Adam had served his curacy – to plant a church in St Aidan’s, Ernesettle.
After a number of months meeting together as a team – seeking God’s heart and planning for the future – SEA Church was finally born in January 2019!
A team of 11 people began worshipping together in St Aidan’s on the first Sunday of 2019. Our desire was to be a community of Spirit-filled Jesus people; a community seeking to do life together and reaching out to those around us with the gospel (gospel means ‘good news’) of God’s kingdom.
Since then we have been hard at work connecting with the community as working out where God is already at work in Ernesettle and what He is calling us to join in with.
In June 2019, we opened our first Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Café and launched our CAP Job Club, which has started out with 5 members attending the course. Later this year we are launching our CAP Life Skills course, aimed at giving people some of the basic skills that we all need to live – especially on a low income.
We’re so excited for all that God is doing. We know that God is powerfully on the move in Ernesettle and we are looking forward to continue serving Him faithfully in this place!
We would love to invite you to come and be a part of this awesome adventure!
